Teehee... after a SIX game winless streak... we get a win! The Oilers won against St. Louis 3-2 in overtime. Penner gets a pair of goals, including the overtime winner. The Oilers go to Nashville to take on the Preds tomorrow in a back to back game. Thank you St. Blueee ! :D

This game was on PPV. The Oilers pretty much chased the puck in their own zone throughout the first period. The rookie, David Perron, gets a lucky bounce and scores a goal. It was 1-0 for the Blues at the end of the first. Right at the start of the second period, Tom Gilbert gives it to Patrick Thoresen, and he gives it back to Gilbert and he beats Hannu Toivonen. The game was tied 1-1. In the third, Joni Pitkanen sends it to Robert Nilsson and he gets the puck to Dustin Penner. Penner does a little Sam Gagner move and gets a goal. Later in the period, Backes ties the game at 2-2. The Oilers were able to kill off a couple of penalties late in the period to take the game to overtime. It was mainly all Blues in Overtime. Ethan Moreau draws a penalty, so the Oilers get a four on three chance agains St. Louis. About a minute left in the period, Shawn Horcoff sends it to Jarret Stoll. Jarret Stoll sends a rocket to the net. Dustin Penner gets the puck and shoots it into the net for his second goal of the game. The Oilers win 3-2 in OT.

So, that's basically you're summary. There was a lot of hitting and a few fights in this game. Zack Stortini gave a good, clean hit to Bryce Salvador. He didn't like it, so Stortini and him drop the gloves. In the second period, Ladislav Smid had enough of David Backes. That was his first fight (I am so proud of you of Smidd!), and he won it cleanly. There's more dancing; Zack Stortini and D.J. King give each other a couple of good punches.

Sam Gagner got the day off today. Robert Nilsson got to play on the top line with Dustin Penner and Shawn Horcoff. Mathieu Garon made so many great saves. He played an awesome game. Go Garon -D

I am so excited for the autograph signing at West Ed. next Saturday. I am gunna take a shit load of pictures and I'm gunna get a couple of autographs :P I hope that I don't have to waste too much time lining up. The more autographs, the merrier! It's going to be awesome.

Lots of luck to the Oilers when they take on the Nashville Predators tomorrow!

Year 2008

This is actually the first time I am actually posting something on my Live Journal. A first, and great, just in time for the new year. Many thanks to Teresa for this Live Journal. I am still trying to organize and fix some stuff. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to use this for yet, but it'll hit me.

I'm thinking about...
40% - Rants and Flaming about the Oilers and Hockey related stuff
35% - Oilers info like post-game and such
20% - Oiler Icons and Goods
5% - Just general junk

It's going to be 2008 in about five and a half hours. What a year it's been. 2008 is going to be an awesome year for me. For the Oilers, I'm not quite sure about how great of a year this will be. What a way to end the year. I'm sure a 4-2 loss is a perfect way to welcome the new year.

Well I guess that does it for my entry. I wish everyone a Happy New Year. Especially to the Edmonton Oilers, have a happy and more improved year.
